A Scandi brand - mbyM

The British fashion trends have long put Scandinavian fashion alongside our British staples. Those who are in denial about this but have passed an H&M store (on our streets since 1978) and didn't realise that Scandi fashion has been with us a very long time are getting fewer. What is true is that we Brits have yet to tire of our Nordic cousins and their ways of layering, of hygge, of lagom (Swedish word meaning 'just enough') and their fashion. We love their fashion. So, let's introduce you to this edgy little number: mbyM. It's been with us for a couple of seasons now and is settling in nicely. Style-wise we think it compliments its Danish relatives, Baum und Pferdgarten and ICHI, with its playful prints and 'coolest girl in the room' vibe. Indeed, the 'coolness' is all over mbyM's literature - it's what it says about itself, and we agree. Let's talk you through the season so far:

Wardrobe Heroes - Shirt Dresses

• A shirt dress doesn't need to have a belted waist to look good, and both the Stalla (left) and Ellia (right) have details at the waist that give the impression of pulling in without actually needing to.
• Wear a shirt dress with a contrasting vest under and some of the buttons undone to give a different look. Try one of our Rosemunde Danish wide Lace Tanks in white, raspberry or red.

Candy Colours - a pop of bubblegum pink

• This bubblegum pink works an absolute treat with bright white and dark wash denim. The Berg Jumper, with its textured cotton-blend loveliness makes a statement without screaming it out. Perfect then for your inner Scandi 'cool-girl' and the slogan Feel Good tee, is elegantly done.

Summer Linen - Army Green

• Call it Army Green (we certainly do!) or Olive Green, it's this kind of green and it looks brilliant when contrasted with bright whites and lighter pinks. The brilliant Albana Dress is yet another shirt dress in a linen-cotton blend and has a bit of a coastal vibe - as you can see in this picture. Wear it over a plain white vest, add some sparkly flats and a cross body bag, and you are perfect for a festival or beach party.
